Education Administrative Assistant

Reports To: Director of Education

Position Summary:  IKAR – a dynamic, progressive, egalitarian, Jewish spiritual community in Los Angeles, seeks to hire an administrative assistant to support Limudim (our 200+ student, Shabbat and Tuesday supplementary educational program) alongside our Director of Education. The assistant will primarily work Mondays-Fridays, with some additional responsibilities on Tuesday afternoons, Shabbat and Jewish holidays. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)  

-Manage payroll, invoices, registration, rosters, attendance, tuition payments and other record-keeping for Limudim, High Holy Days, Shabbaton, and other Children and Family programming
-Procure supplies and make copies for teachers 2x/week
-Organize supplies at office and Shalhevet
-Design and send weekly parent and faculty newsletters
-Support Director of Education in annual budget process
-Manage schedule and calendar for Director of Education
-Provide on-site support for Shabbat and holiday programming as needed and determined by Director of Education
-Other duties may be assigned

-Develop relationships with students, parents, staff, prospective parents, and community members
-Maintain clear, consistent, and timely communication with all constituencies

Salary and Benefits: Salary $40,000-$45,000, commensurate with experience, with generous benefits package including full health, vision, and dental coverage.
