Lisa Friedman

Lisa entered IKAR for the first time at HHD services ten years ago. As a native Los Angeleno, having spent her adult life engaging with the Jewish landscape, by the end of the services, she knew she had found a new spiritual home. She loves IKAR’s welcoming and inclusive embrace and what a joyous space it is, filled with smart and serious people with the courage to lean-in to social justice with the clergy. She is especially energized in being a part of Minyan Tzedek Green Action and advocating for environmental justice.

For the past 20 years Lisa has been engaged with a plethora of Jewish grassroots organizations exploring eco-Judaism as a portal for Jewish identity and practice with projects in Los Angeles, the U.S. and in Israel.

She has a B.A. from Pitzer College in Environmental Studies, an M.A. from Pepperdine University in Psychology and an M.A. in Environmental Education from Cal State San Bernadino.
