A Time to Heal? Not So Fast.

Shabbat Haye Sarah Sermon. Thousands of years ago, two estranged brothers stood together at the graveside and buried their father. Reconciliation is possible. But peace, unity, healing—these are the last steps in a long, transformative process. There are no shortcuts. Anything short of a real, honest reckoning does violence to the truth, fuels injustice, and endangers us and our future.

Don’t Curse Tomorrow with the Despair of Today
To throw up our hands and surrender to the myth of inevitability is to relinquish the most precious gift given to humanity: our capacity to change the world around us.  We can be scared without being resigned.  We can be exhausted without being fatalistic.  We can be discouraged but nonetheless courageous.
