Teens

Teens in 8th-12th grade are invited to join our teen programming, where they can continue to be a vital part of our community. If you would like to be added to our weekly teen email to stay up to date on all things teen-related, please email us at [email protected].

Calendar
Teen Circle

Whether it’s current events or just teen issues, we want to create a safe, confidential space for our teens to talk about what’s happening in their lives. Teen Group will be held on the second or third Sunday of every month from 5-7pm and will include dinner.

Shabbat Lunch and Learn
In order for teens to explore Jewish texts and ideas on a more sophisticated level, we invite teens to a teen-only Shabbat Lunch and Learn once a month. Teens will engage with clergy, educators, and guest speakers to discuss issues that are meaningful for them. The Teen Lunch and Learns will take place once a month after Shabbat services from 12:30-1:30.
Hadrakha Program

Teens are teaching assistants at Limudim, our religious school program. There are three ways teens can be involved in our hadrakha program; as a classroom teaching assistant, as a one-on-one for kids with unique needs, or with a specific activity such as snack/hafsakaLimudim meets on Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons, and teens can work both days or just one. This is a great opportunity for teens who want to grow leadership skills, like working with kids, and get the experience of their first (or one of their first) jobs. Teens will also participate in 5 leadership trainings throughout the year. If you are interested, please fill out this form.

Social Justice Teen Trip
9th-12th graders are invited to attend our social justice themed trip with Tzedek America. We are excited to announce that our 2025 trip is to Guatemala over Memorial Day Weekend! The theme of this trip is “A Journey of Unseen Stories” during which we will explore the unseen stories of the people who live in Guatemala.
BBYO

We are working on starting a BBYO chapter! BBYO is an international youth group for Jewish teens and is a great opportunity to meet other Jewish teens, in LA and around the world. The teen leadership board will plan fun events such as teen Shabbat dinners, beach days, bowling, movie nights, and more! As part of our IKAR BBYO experience, at least three events will focus on social justice and/or service-learning. We hope to have one BBYO event a month, usually the last weekend of the month.
