IKAR-Institute for Jewish Spirituality Partnership
IKAR has joined the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s first Community Network.
IJS, founded in 1999, is a pioneering organization for Jewish spiritual mindfulness. From guided meditation and contemplative text study to leadership training and retreats, IJS creates opportunities to become more mindful, compassionate, and resilient—and build a more just and peaceful world together.
Our partnership provides every IKAR member free access to IJS’s Resources:
- Daily online meditation sit (including healing prayers and Kaddish)
- Weekly online Yoga Studio
- Weekly online young adult mindfulness meditation for 20s and 30s
- Monthly online affinity mindfulness sessions (LGBT+ Jews, Jews with Disabilities, Jews of Color)
- The Gift of Awareness: Cultivating Mindfulness Through Jewish Meditation (IJS’s flagship, self-paced, online course).
Our unique coupon code for online registration at www.jewishspirituality.org is IKAR_CA.
In addition, IJS will be offering IKAR members discounts on other paid online courses, and special group rates if we wish to put an IKAR/IJS cohort together.
With election season approaching and times even more uncertain, come and learn to engage more mindfully.Beginning October 15th, IJS is hosting six weekly zoom session on Thursdays from 2:00-3:15 PM ET. |
| Mindful Civic Engagement, a course on how to respond wisely to the pressing issues of our time. Each week, we’ll delve into a different middah (character trait) that can help shape our civic engagement.
This class will be a highlight of IJS’s fall season and will offer practical guidance on how to use mindfulness practices in our work to repair our broken world. Rabbi Sharon Brous will teach the session on Emunah (Steadfastness): Faithfully Showing Up as Civic Engagement.
