Rabbi Harold Schulweis argued that the depth agenda for the post-Holocaust generation was the way we extract meaning from our nightmare. Only when we simultaneously hold on to the grief AND let go of the eternal victimization, the eternal justification of hatred of the other, will we honor the memory of our suffering and build a society that reflects our Jewish values.
