Our trip will be held from February 12-15th, 2026! If you have any questions, please reach out to our Director of Youth Engagement, Tamara Joseph, as [email protected].

We will be partnering with Tivnu, a Jewish non-profit based in Portland that brings the connection of Social Justice and Judaism into the work that they do. This trip focuses on homelessness and will involve both experiential and active learning.

Some of the activities we’ll be doing:

  • Working at a construction site with Habitat for Humanity to build Tiny Homes
  • Work and learn from people involved in this social justice cause
  • Explore Portland and surrounding areas (Like Powell’s City of Books and some waterfalls!)

We have an official IKAR BBYO chapter! BBYO is an international youth group for Jewish teens and is a great opportunity to meet other Jewish teens, in LA and around the world. The teen leadership board will plan fun events such as teen Shabbat dinners, beach days, bowling, movie nights, and more! As part of our IKAR BBYO experience, at least three events will focus on social justice and/or service-learning. We hope to have 1-2 BBYO events a month. Your teens can follow and check out our Instagram account @ikarbbyo.

We are working on putting together learning opportunities for our teens.
