Living in a Lonely World

By
Rabbi Sharon Brous

Shabbat Vayetze Sermon. Loneliness is a public health crisis, exacerbated by the public health crisis of COVID. It’s not easy to thicken our social connections in the midst of a pandemic, and yet our health and the health of our society depends on it. The more people who feel, even momentary brushes with– if I disappeared tomorrow, who would even notice?—the more unwell we are as a society. As we try to navigate these days ahead, let us keep finding ways to tether to this world, and to lift one another up with love.
