The ECC provides a loving and engaging environment in which our children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and spiritual growth is supported and their individuality respected.

The ECC offers a developmental, hands-on curriculum embracing five core components:

  • Inclusive Judaism
  • Introduction to conversational, written, and liturgical Hebrew
  • Reggio-Emilia inspired emergent learning
  • A respectful, reciprocal relationship with our sister community in Katira, Uganda
  • A commitment to Tikkun Olam – learning to repair and care for the planet

Our program also includes:

  • Shabbat celebrations with our clergy
  • Weekly visits with specialists including music, Israeli dance, gardening, and drumming
  • Hands-on learning through multi-sensory exploration
  • Optional kosher pescatarian hot lunch prepared on campus
  • Afternoon enrichment classes including Mad Science, sports, cooking, and mindful martial arts

For Our Families

The ECC community prides itself on creating a safe space for coming together to support the entire family unit, not just the children enrolled in our programs.

Our directors, who have extensive backgrounds in child development and early education, have an open door policy for all members of our community, and provide guidance and support through all the parenting and development challenges of raising young children.

Our loving, experienced, and diverse educators with backgrounds in Judaic learning, Reggio Emilia, and special education are also always willing to engage in helpful conversations about the unique needs of each child.

Our leaders will also provide guidance and support as families explore kindergarten options.

Family Testimonials
“One of the things I appreciate most about the IKAR ECC is their developmental, hands-on approach to learning and meeting each child where they are. My kids and my family have been embraced and celebrated for our uniqueness and gifts in a way that I could never have imagined. This is so much more than a preschool. It’s a home.”
