The book of Exodus is the world’s oldest resistance playbook, modeling what it takes to defy an unjust and ruler and achieve national liberation. From Yitro to Miriam, Shifra and Puah to Pharaoh’s daughter, none brought down the empire alone, but their collective struggle certainly did. This week’s parasha invites us to take the long view, and to step (back) into the good fight even when you know that giving it everything you’ve got still might not be enough.
