Early Childhood Center

The IKAR Preschool truly gave me the gift of community. It is a place where every teacher knows my child’s names, where I can ask any parent to pick them up and where their imagination runs wild. From Jewish Holiday Experiences to the delicious lunch cooked on site to the freedom my child feels to be who they are to being able to approach the leaders with parenting questions and worries, the IKAR preschool is just magic. -Elizabeth

The IKAR Early Childhood Center has been a truly magical place where our children blossomed, learning to be caring and curious in the ECC’s nurturing, joyful environment. It gave our family a profound sense of belonging, where Jewish values were lived and celebrated in everyday moments. This year we celebrated the bar mitzvah of our proud ECC alum and so many of his ECC classmates. Those classmates are still his very best friends, and their parents are still our parenting village. We still feel the ECC magic in our lives on Shabbat and every day. -Lauren and Aaron

Sending our children to the IKAR ECC was the best decision we ever made as a family. It is such a nurturing and loving place where the teachers are like extended family, where the children are taught to care for themselves and each other, and where we found a community that aligned with our highest values. Our children (now teenagers) will tell you their “Preschool Friends” are their closest friends to this day, and their parents continue to “village parent” with us in all ways. We just had Kip’s first kinder PT conference. I wanted to tell you that when discussing his literacy skills that he came in with, the teacher asked us “What preschool did he go to?? He started off so far ahead.” When I told her it was IKAR which is Reggio/ play-based she looked shocked. Ha! -Deanie Eichenstein
