Rebecca Steinberg
Rebecca currently serves on the Capital Campaign Committee and is a seasoned fundraising consultant.
Rebecca and her husband, Jonathan, are native Philadelphians who moved to Los Angeles in the early 2000s and joined IKAR around the time of its inception. Their deep love for Rabbi Brous, Melissa Balaban, and IKAR’s mission—rooted in social justice, education, and creating a “way in” for all seeking a Jewish community—has fueled their long-standing commitment and support.
Rebecca’s fundraising consulting work specializes in major gifts, donor engagement, and nonprofit growth. She helps organizations strengthen their fundraising capacity and develop strategies to achieve ambitious development goals. Most recently, she served as the Director of Major Gifts at Milken Community School.
Rebecca spent more than a decade on the Board of Trustees at Valley Beth Shalom Day School, in several capacities, including Vice President for Advancement, Co-Chair of the Head of School Search Committee, and Chair of the Development Committee. Earlier in her career, Rebecca worked as a lobbyist and on numerous political campaigns focusing her time on strategy, grassroots organizing and fundraising efforts.
Rebecca holds a Master’s degree in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, a B.A. from the University of Rochester, and is a graduate of Akiba Hebrew Academy (now Barrack Hebrew Academy). She and Jonathan live in Los Angeles with their three children—Maddie, Drew, and Benji—but continue to remain fiercely loyal to their Philadelphia sports teams.
