The IKAR Center is our collective investment in the future of our community. Together we are creating a permanent home for prayer, learning, justice, creativity, and connection. Every household’s participation matters, not only to reach our financial goal, but in affirming our shared ownership of this sacred space. To learn more about making your gift, read below. INVEST IN IKAR THROUGH THE ANNUAL FUND

It is essential that we sustain IKAR today, even as we build for tomorrow. As such, we ask all members to continue their annual giving at current levels (or higher, if possible) while supporting IKAR’s capital campaign with a meaningful gift.

YOUR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN GIFT

A capital campaign is a moment to stretch and dream big as we imagine IKAR’s permanent home and its impact on our community. We encourage you to consider a gift that feels comfortable, yet aspirational to you; a gift that reflects not only where you are today, but how deeply IKAR has mattered in your life and how powerfully the IKAR Center will shape our shared future.

Ways to Fulfill Your Capital Campaign Pledge

Larger gifts may be fulfilled over multiple years, allowing you to stretch into your most meaningful commitment. One-time gifts are, of course, always welcome.

We gratefully accept:

  • Check
  • Credit card
  • Venmo
  • Stock transfer
  • Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)

If you plan to give through a DAF, stock, or another non-cash asset, please email [email protected] so we can thank you and credit your gift to your IKAR record.

GIVING FAQs

Why is participation in the capital campaign important?

The IKAR Center is a community project, built by and for all of us. Full participation across all giving levels celebrates shared ownership of our future home and ensures that this campaign reflects the collective strength of our community.

Is the capital campaign gift separate from annual giving?

Yes. The capital campaign is in addition to annual giving, particularly High Holy Days/Yom Kippur. Annual giving sustains IKAR’s clergy, staff, programs, and daily operations. We ask all members to maintain their annual giving while also making a capital campaign pledge so we can care for today’s community while building for tomorrow.

How much should I give?

We ask every household to make a gift that is meaningful to them. There is no “one size fits all” amount. What matters most is participation and intention. If you are interested in learning more about giving levels above $10,000, dedication or naming opportunities, please email Nikky Schulman, Senior Director of the Capital Campaign [email protected].

What is a stretch or aspirational gift?

A stretch gift is a pledge that goes a bit beyond what feels immediately comfortable, while still being financially responsible for you and your family. It’s a big dream, a reach for the stars. It’s a way to realize the possibilities of your impact.

Capital campaigns are rare moments to reflect on values, gratitude, and long-term impact. Many donors find that stretching their giving allows them to make a more meaningful commitment, especially when they spread their gift out over time.

How can I spread my gift over time?

Yes. We offer flexible options so you can give in a way that works for you:

  • One-time payment
  • For larger gifts, a 2–3 year pledge, paid in installments

Spreading your pledge over time often makes it possible to reach further and sustain greater long-term impact.

What payment methods are accepted?

We gratefully accept:

  • Check
  • Credit card
  • Venmo
  • Stock
  • Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

If you plan to give through stock or another non-cash asset, please contact us so we can assist.

Can I use my Donor-Advised Fund?

Yes. You may recommend grants from your DAF to fulfill your capital campaign pledge. While DAFs cannot make legally binding multi-year pledges, you may indicate your intent to use your DAF to complete your pledge over time.

Are capital campaign gifts tax-deductible?

Yes. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive documentation for your records.

Who can I talk to if I have questions or want help deciding?

If you’d like to talk through giving options, pledge structures, or payment methods, the capital campaign team is happy to help and deeply grateful for the conversation. Reach out to Capital Campaign Senior Director, Nikky Schulman at [email protected]
