Upcoming Circles
An IKAR Circle is made up of a group of IKAR members who share an interest or affinity, led by an IKAR member. Our Circles help our community form deep bonds of connection, while developing their shared interest under expert leadership. Sometimes a leader may offer a limited series – up to 8 sessions centered on a particular interest.
newMOON Rosh Hodesh Circle (FromSoil2Soul)
Led and run by FromSoil2Soul, gather monthly for a beautiful, inclusive, and intergenerational ritual of belonging, reflection, and rejuvenation.
Set intentions, release what no longer serves, and embrace new beginnings with the moon cycles.
We gather together monthly in the garden for the newMOON, to pause and root down into the fertile soils of ancient Jewish ritual to explore monthly themes of the Hebrew calendar while making herbal bath salts.
Grief Garden Circle: Monday Mournings (FromSoil2Soul)
After our online Minyan on Monday mornings we open a short Grief Garden Circle, a sacred listening space, from 8.30-9.00am. Please join us there if you are holding grief.

Virtual Jewish Poetry Reading Circle
Poetry can often heal, elevate the soul and awaken the heart. Come join IKAR’s Jewish Poetry Circle as we read Jewish poets — the Oneg Shabbos poets of the Warsaw Ghetto, Medieval Sephardic poets, Israeli and Jewish-American poets up to the present—the historical context of their writing, spiritual relationships, personal agonies and joys.
The Circle is not an academic writing class but rather an informal experience of a committed group of participants to explore and hopefully bond with Jewish poetic expression and with each other.
IKAR Creating Circle (Virtual)

TRIBE (20’s-30’s) 2nd Night Seder (Co-Sponsored by NuRoots)
Date: Thursday, April 2nd, 2026
Time: 7-10 pm
Location: Provided upon RSVP (Fairfax area)
FAQ:
How much will it cost?: $36, this includes all food, drink, and activities! We never want the cost to be a barrier to attendance. If it is a concern for you, don’t hesitate to reach out to [email protected].
Who will lead: YOU! Well, a lot of it will be led by Rabbi Hannah Jensen but you will have the opportunity to participate!
What we will eat: 2026 menu TBD. Don’t worry – we will have all your Seder favorites! All food served will be Kosher for Passover and will be pescatarian (with gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options). If you have dietary restrictions, email [email protected].
How many people will be there: We want to ensure that the program maintains the utmost quality and are capping registration at 80. Unfortunately, we will not be accepting walk-ups.
How long will the Seder last: As long as it takes to finish off four glasses of wine each- kidding! A seder typically lasts a few hours.
Where to park: There will be limited parking on-site. Neighborhood street parking is available. We encourage ridesharing, biking, rollerblading, etc. Security will be on-site.
What if I’ve never been to a Seder before: That’s ok, neither have we! Kidding, but we are hoping to make the Seder as inclusive and accessible as possible for folks with knowledge low and high!
This experience is part of Collective Escape, NuRoots’ citywide Passover festival, March 29–April 9 in L.A. Discover and explore the lineup at nuroots.org/collectiveescape. Please note that all registrant information will be shared with NuRoots following the event.
