Please join us on Sunday, November 23rd for our annual Hanne Mintz z”l Thanksgiving Tikkun, as we come together with food donations to pack over 100 Thanksgiving feasts for families in our LA Voice partner church communities. Named in loving memory of Hanne Mintz z’’l, who helped conceive and lead this project, we’ll honor her legacy through service and learning together. We’ll have Jewish learning for children and adults alike, and create a well-oiled assembly line to pack Thanksgiving meal kits! We’ll also be having a Teen Trip Bake Sale Fundraiser to support their trip with Tzedek America. In early January, they are headed to New York City to explore the history of Jewish immigration as well as current immigration issues. We look forward to being in community with you all to make this holiday a celebration. Who: Everyone! What: Sign up to bring food, deliver meals to churches, and help as an on-site volunteer. When: 9:30am-12pm – Volunteers are needed to help with car unloading, table monitoring/flow, and assiting our check-in table 10-11am – Come one, come all (with your food donations of course)! We’ll schmooze, nosh and support the teen bake sale, and have activities for young kids 11-11:45am – Our clergy will lead the adults in a text study and our educators will be leading a family learning 11:45am-12:15pm – The star of the show = meal packing 12:15pm – Drivers arrive to transport meals to our LA Voice partners’ church communities in East LA 1pm – Volunteers are needed to help us clean up and break down the space

The IKAR Writers Circle is a space for adult fiction and nonfiction Ikar writers to gather, share their work, and receive feedback. The circle is an intergenerational community that seeks to uplift Jewish writers and authentic Jewish stories removed from the pressures of writing and entertainment industries. Writers will meet once a month virtually, at 7:30 pm, on the last Monday of the month. Have questions? Please email [email protected].
