After Tragedy, Naming Names
Shabbat Haye Sarah Sermon. Last shabbes in Pittsburgh, one man pulled the trigger, but a whole host of forces laid the groundwork for the deadly attack. The terrorist has been apprehended, but if we don’t name the culture of terror that made it possible, we are counting days until the next attack. Neutrality is not a moral category when human life is on the line and those most vulnerable are threatened.
