QueerKAR Open Coffee Hour
Happy (almost) New Year! As we move toward the year ahead, we hope to celebrate queer joy, strengthen our connections, and continue to build community together.
We’re happy to share that our leadership team is welcoming Sam Breslauer, who will be joining our longstanding organizers, Amy Teplow and Jen Bailey, as well as our wonderful ongoing clergical partner, Rabbi Jensen. Also, a huge thank you to the wonderful Razia Danesh, who is stepping down to focus on academics.
As we welcome these changes and continue to create opportunities for community involvement, Amy and Sam will be hosting open coffee hours at Starbucks, located at 1742 S. La Cienega Blvd on Sunday, September 6, from 1:00–3:00 pm.
Please drop in if you have any thoughts, ideas, questions, or just want to hang out with fellow QueerKar community members. An RSVP is not required but please don’t hesitate to let us know you’re interested in coming by emailing [email protected]
We’d love to see you and hear your ideas for the year ahead.
All the best,
Amy, Sam, & Jen
In this very difficult moment, we all need as much support as we can get. If you want to talk to one of our rabbis, please reach out to Rabbi Hannah Jensen, who is available as a resource for all of QueerKAR. You can reach her at [email protected].
Bargello
Today • 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Bargello Circle
Bargello is a needlework art that was popular during the Renaissance. The patterns are created by counting stitches on a canvas, as there is no printed pattern provided. It is very easy to learn and the beginner patterns are simple to create. You only need to be able to use a sewing needle and to count!
