Writer’s Circle Meeting: Special Guest – Laura Beck (Virtual)

Join us for a discussion with special guest Laura Beck! Beck is an award winning journalist and writer, recognized for her exceptional work in the comedy, lifestyle, and finance domains. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, The New Yorker, Fast Company, New York Times, MSN, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, and more.

 

The IKAR Writers Circle is a space for adult fiction and nonfiction Ikar writers to gather, share their work, and receive feedback. The circle is an intergenerational community that seeks to uplift Jewish writers and authentic Jewish stories removed from the pressures of writing and entertainment industries. Writers will meet once a month virtually, at 7:30 pm, on the last Monday of the month.

The Midwives Birthed Into the World More Than Those Hebrew Babies
Parashat Shemot 5786 – A seemingly superfluous sidebar in our grand narrative in fact models what we most need to remember in a time of tyranny: There will emerge a vast moral vacuum. Step into it. Use the power you do have to muck up the machinery of injustice. Lean into faith. And remember that goodness, courage, and integrity are contagious. This is how we push back against the darkness.
