Betsy and her husband, Joel Snyder, have been a part of IKAR for 15 years and counting. Since the birth of their daughter, Ora, 13 years ago (and three years later, their son, Sol), IKAR has been an organizing feature of their life in Los Angeles. The IKAR community has walked alongside them through many a life cycle event. They’ve  found in IKAR a space of deep community and purpose — one that embraces Jewish joy, rigor, and justice.

In her day-to-day, Betsy works at Health Management Associates, a national health and human services consulting firm focused on improving the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. In her day job, she’s often in the role of facilitator – working with people and organizations with different interests and needs to find common purpose and possibility.

Outside of work, she’s been active in growing TeenTix Los Angeles and is always looking for opportunities to learn and grow. Her latest hobbies include trail running, coaching AYSO, and singing in a community choir.
