Creating Circle + Boomers (60+): “Sage Brush”

Join us for a special Juneteenth Creating Circle to explore the power of perception, and how our encounters shape the world through us. Using text, discussion, process art-making, and reflection we’ll engage the Jewish Studio Process in a spirit of curiosity and discovery. No art experience needed. All (ages 13+) are welcome. Facilitated by Ann Bohrer and Ross Berman. Presented by IKARites of Color Circle and the IKAR Creating Circle. We will meet in the Shalhevet art room (third floor, room 306) at 4pm, before Kabbalat Shabbat services.

Wind down and get ready for Shabbat. We are diverse: still working and retired; single, divorced, widowed, and in a relationship; have children, grandchildren, pets, plants, or none of the above; Angelinos and transplants. What we have in common is ikar, a multitude of experiences, and a desire to spend some of our time enjoying events and experiences with those in our age group (60+).

Our annual Pride Shabbat returns to Pico-Robertson for an evening of food, ritual, and powerful conversation. Daven with us in person at 6:30pm PT at Shalhevet (910 S Fairfax Ave) or on YouTube. Then join us for a conversation with Dr. Sara Glass, author of Kissing Girls on Shabbat, and Lani Santo, CEO of Footsteps, discussing LGBTQ+ identity, chosen family, and building a self-determined life after leaving ultra-Orthodoxy.
