Jewish Poetry Reading Circle
Wednesdays • 7 pm • NEXT: Apr 8
Virtual Jewish Poetry Reading Circle
Poetry can often heal, elevate the soul and awaken the heart. Come join IKAR’s Jewish Poetry Circle as we read Jewish poets — the Oneg Shabbos poets of the Warsaw Ghetto, Medieval Sephardic poets, Israeli and Jewish-American poets up to the present—the historical context of their writing, spiritual relationships, personal agonies and joys. The Circle is not an academic writing class but rather an informal experience of a committed group of participants to explore and hopefully bond with Jewish poetic expression and with each other.

Creating A Spiritual Biography with Rabbi Deborah Silver (Virtual)
It is the nature of human beings to create stories. Yet, when it comes to our own lives, when we tell ourselves our own stories – whether by way of resume, family history, screenplay or any other form of autobiography – we also record our relationship with our own self. Spiritual biography is different.  In this short course, based on the method created by Kathleen Dowling Singh in The Grace in Living, we will engage, together and separately, in recording our encounters with the sacred, using them as lenses through which to understand our evolving relationship with the Divine. Please commit to attending the whole series of classes.
